Holi Festival 2017: Brighter and Lighter than ever

by

As a roundup of this week’s Asia week activities, Waterford Kamhlaba Asian students ended it off with the Hindu celebration of the Holi Colour festival. Throughout the festival, the mood was good. The event kicked off in the amphitheatre with a presentation from some of the Hindu students about what Holi is, how it was formed and the general structure of the festival. Those who were signed up for tickets were treated to some Indian snack foods. It was explained that Holi was meant to create new friendships and break down social barriers. There was clear example of that as everybody witnessed first-hand the unadulterated fun shared between students. Apart from a ten minute thunderstorm, there was fun throughout the event.
