Waterford’s IB2 graduation ceremony was held on Saturday 17th November 2018 at Esibayeni lodge, Eswatini.
The event started at 1730 hrs and 115 students from 39 countries were graduating. The ceremony included the presentation of certificates, speeches and a variety of musical performances. Speaking during the event, Waterford chair of the Governing Council Dr. Mark Mills congratulated the IB class of 2018 for joining thousands of other Waterford alumni who are all over the world. The principal Stephen Lowry said, “This achievement would not have been possible without the support of parents, staff, alumni, donors and other friends of Waterford who are doing incredible job for the school.”
There were some speeches by the graduating students, with Ronja Karvinen and Simon Lowry giving a student perspective while Phuthumile Nxumalo and Bengi Rwabuhemba delivered a vote of thanks on behalf of the graduating class. The master of ceremonies for the night were Deun Kim, (South Korea, WK 12-18) and Mbonisi Mkhombe, (Eswatini, WK 13-18).
