Monday 3rd February 2020 marked Waterford’s 57th birthday and this day coincided with the school’s Community Tunnel of Kindness as part of the Great Kindness Challenge week on campus.
The school participated in the Great Kindness Challenge for the first time this year and it kicked off in assembly and tutor period on Wednesday 29th January. The challenge is an initiative aimed at creating a culture of kindness at school. This year there are 15 million students in over 27,000 schools in 115 countries across the globe participating - a World Wide Kindness Revolution!
As part of the activities for the week, the school had a Community Tunnel of Kindness on Monday 3rd February from 7.30 am to 8 am. Children who find school challenging tend to find Monday mornings the most difficult. Therefore teachers, parents and community members formed a human tunnel welcoming students to school at the beginning of the day with signs of positive affirmations, smiling faces and high fives!
