Waterford’s student-led environmental action group, Climate Kids, recently organized eSwatini's first ever march for climate change. The students are inspired by the activism of Greta Thunberg, an adolescent social activist from Sweden who has inspired the youth of the world to come together to alert world leaders on the urgent need to address Global Warming through a movement called #FridaysforFuture.
Climate Kids marched with posters and sensitized the local community of eSwatini on the effects of climate change. They organized a whole school initiative to actively work towards a better environment for all. Students met at the school’s main gate and proceeded to walk down the Waterford hill, picking up litter along the way.
