Launched on the 8th of March 2017, the WK Stokvel is an organization made up of UWC staff, students, parents and friends of Waterford and the UWC (both past and present) who would like to come together and donate money towards educating Swazi children at Waterford. They’re challenging everyone to consider giving at least E100 a month towards a scholarship.
In its first year, the Stokvel has already raised enough to fund and IB student for both years of the IBDP. The young woman who was awarded the scholarship for 2018 - 2019 was selected as the recipient due to her academic merit, amazing potential and of course the well-rounded nature of her profile.
